Bear Necessities Volume 33
Earlier this month, Mercy had the honor of hosting Mia Ferdinand's signing day. The afternoon was filled with joy, excitement, and heartfelt moments as we celebrated her commitment to continuing her academic and athletic career at Hawaii Pacific University. The reception room was filled with familiar faces from her Mercy teammates, coaches, as well as her club teammates, coaches, family, friends, faculty and staff, all of whom supported her throughout her journey.
The afternoon was marked with smiles, and a genuine sense of pride as Mia put pen to paper, officially committing to furthering her volleyball career at the next level. The opportunity to continue playing sports at the collegiate level is both a rare and remarkable achievement, as only a small percentage of high school athletes are able to reach this milestone.
Mia's signing is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and perseverance both on and off the court. Throughout her time at Mercy, she has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, growing into a team leader and someone who consistently inspires those around her. The afternoon was not just a celebration of her athleticism but also a tribute to her character and determination.
As Mia moves on to the next chapter we take we take pride that she has represented Mercy with dignity, sportsmanship, and compassion and look forward to watching her continue to grow and succeed both as an athlete and as a person.
