Bear Necessities Volume 31
After nearly a month away from their home field, the Softball team finally returned to the turf at Cuernavaca Park. In an exciting game that featured several lead changes and explosive offensive moments, the Bears tamed the Tigers of Terra Nova, winning 15-11.
The highlight of the day came from McKenna Fua '28, who hit for the cycle! Her incredible performance included a home run to left field in the sixth inning, a triple in the fourth, a double in the second, and a single in the fifth.
The 6th inning proved to be a game-changer, with the Bears exploding for a remarkable 10-run inning. Aveline Anderson '27, McKenna Fua '28, and Isabel Rebruiano '28 were key contributors, each hitting a two-run home run during the rally. The energy from the dugout was electric, and the team's offensive power was on full display as they took control of the game.
Isabel Rebruiano '28 earned the win for Mercy, delivering a strong performance on the mound. She pitched 4 and 1/3 innings, allowing 12 hits and six runs (three earned) while striking out three and walking four.
The energy and camaraderie within the dugout was incredible, as the team celebrated every moment together. The Bears showed incredible grit and resilience, battling hard all afternoon and into the early evening. I look forward to more opportunities for the Bears to showcase their talents on the turf.
