Cross Country Shines at the Farmers Invitational
On Saturday the Mercy Cross Country team traveled over to Hayward High School to run in the Farmer Invitational. The North Coast Section Championship Course is a full 3 miles and is mostly flat with 1 almost 400 meter hill that is run twice. This meet saw Lesly Sanchez Delgado '27 run in her first race of this young season while Sophia Jurian '27 made her high school Cross Country debut. Mika Taira '25 was our top Varsity runner clocking in at 24:23 followed by Lesly Sanchez Delgado '27 running a time of 26:11. In the JV race, Sophia Jurian '27 led the way with an impressive team leading time of 23:54 missing a medal (awarded to the top 25) by 1 place. Isabella Webb '26 was the Bear's # 2 runner posting a time of 26:46. Alexandria Hart '27 was Mercy's 3rd runner clocking in with a 3 mile Personal Best time of 29:22, a 2:51 drop from the Jackie Henderson Invitational two weeks ago. Sienna Lee '27 ran a time of 29:42.
